On this escorted tour, your tour guide will not travel with you on the flight to your travel destination but you will be met at the point of arrival. Your tour escort will remain with you throughout the tour and will also be assisted by expert local guides.

Itinerary

Day 1 ATHENS

On arrival at Athens airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. You will meet your guide this evening.

Day 2 ATHENS

After breakfast, embark on a morning sightseeing tour to visit the Acropolis and the Parthenon. See the Agora, Acropolis Museum, Royal Palace, the Temple of Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, and the stadium built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Enjoy this afternoon at leisure.

Day 3 ATHENS – CORINTH – MYCENAE – NAUPLIA

After breakfast today we cross the Corinth Canal and visit the ancient remains of the city of Corinth. Continue on to Mycenae, to see the Beehive Tombs, the Treasury of Atreus, Lion Gate and remains of Agamemnon's Royal Palace. On to the Sanctuary of Aesculapius to visit the amphitheatre. Travel on to Nauplia for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 NAUPLIA – ARCADIA – ZEUS – OLYMPIA

Today we drive through the Mountains of Arcadia to Olympia, where the first Olympic Games were held in 776 B.C. Stroll around the ancient Olympic Stadium and the Temples of Zeus and Hera. Dinner and overnight in Olympia.

Day 5 OLYMPIA – PARANASSUS – DELPHI

This morning we ferry across the Gulf of Corinth to mainland Greece. Travel on to Delphi, on the slopes of mighty Mount Parnassus, home of the Oracle. We walk the Sacred Way to the Sanctuary of Apollo and visit this ancient archaeological site. Dinner and overnight in Delphi.

Day 6 DELPHI – KALAMBAKA

After breakfast, drive over the Pourmaraki Pass to Lamia, and on to Kalambaka, a small town situated at the foot of the Cliffs of Meteora. Continue to the incredible monasteries of Meteora to admire the beautiful Byzantine frescoes, perched on giant rocks above the town. Dinner and overnight in Kalambaka.

Day 7 KALAMBAKA – THERMOPYLAE – ATHENS

This morning we enjoy a scenic drive along the coast to Thermopylae, site of the famous battle between the Spartans and Persians. Return to Athens for overnight.

Day 8 ATHENS

This morning transfer to Athens Airport for your return flight home.
