Itinerary
Day 1 (Friday): Arrival
This tour starts at the airport, where you are met and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Stockholm. If you arrive early, we recommend getting the Stockholm Card, which gives you access to most museums in Stockholm, the Stockholm underground and local buses.
Day 2 (Saturday): Stockholm - Visby
From Stockholm, you’ll drive south to Nynäshamn, where you’ll catch the ferry to Gotland. The ferry takes you to Visby, a town with medieval buildings and ruins surrounded by a 13th century city wall, 3.4 kilometres long and 11 metres high! From Visby you will drive to your holiday village, where you’ll find the cottage you will stay in for the next five nights. Your cottage is located close to the sea and is in easy reach of countless sites and activities. Gotland offers numerous opportunities for activities such as hiking, swimming, horse riding, golf, nature-exploring, fishing, bicycling and more. The itinerary here is set up as a guide only, and you will have the freedom and flexibility to choose your sites and activities from day to day.
Day 3 (Sunday): North Gotland
Explore the Lummelunda caves, a big cave system with beautiful natural stalactites and rock formations - truly an incredible experience. Then visit Fårö in the very north, where you will find Digerhuvud, a nature reserve and the biggest field of limestone formations in Gotland.
Day 4 (Monday): East and Central Gotland
East Gotland is famous for its sandy beaches. In fact, there are about 800 kilometres of beaches around Gotland. At Folhammar, you’ll find the amazing natural stone sculptures, “Rauk”, by the beach. Relax and enjoy the beautiful nature of central and east Gotland.
Day 5 (Tuesday): South Gotland
South Gotland offers an enchanting meadowland and beautiful green landscape. Here you’ll find an unspoilt farm landscape with small stone houses, and farm animals grazing in stunning surroundings. The sandstone mining history has left traces on this part of Gotland; visit the stone museum to learn more.
Day 6 (Wednesday): Visit to Stora and Lilla Karlsö
From Klintehamn, you can visit the two islands, Stora and Lilla Karlsö, which offer magnificent nature and flora. With the Baltic’s leading bird sanctuary, this makes the perfect place for bird watching. Stora Karlsö Island is the second oldest nature reserve in the world. Join a guided tour on the island and visit the Museum.
Day 7 (Thursday): Gotland - Stockholm
A visit to the Viking village in Tofta is a good ending to your time in Gotland; the village offers Viking-style houses and activities. After a fantastic trip, depart from Gotland via the ferry. Drive to Stockholm, where you’ll stay the last night.
Day 8 (Friday): Departure
Transfer from Stockholm by Arlanda Express to Arlanda Airport. Passengers departing on the afternoon flight will have time to visit the old town and some of the museums, do some last minute shopping or just relax in town.
