St.Lucia, a tropical eden at the end of the rainbow. St. Lucia is the sort of island that travellers to the Caribbean dream about - a small, lush tropical gem that is still relatively unknown. One of the Windward Islands of the Lesser Antilles, it is located midway down the Eastern Caribbean chain, between Martinique and St. Vincent, and north of Barbados. The island has plenty to offer with a broad array of exciting and exotic activities such as snorkelling, hiking, bird watching and scuba diving. The rainforest preserves of St. Lucia`s mountainous interior are one of the Caribbean`s finest locales for hiking and bird watching. Of course, the island also possesses excellent facilities for golf, tennis, sailing, and a host of other leisure pursuits. Not to be missed is St. Lucia`s Soufriere volcano, the world`s only drive-in volcanic crater. St. Lucians enjoy food and this is evident by the large number of restaurants, cafes and fast food outlets on the island. The cuisine is largely a combination of International and Creole utilizing fresh local produce. Coco Palm hotel, one of the coolest boutique hotels on the island, yet still retains its true Caribbean flavour. THe rooms have a mix of old versus new style, old style blends seamlessly with the 21st century comforts like Wifi and cable TV. Rooms come with pool and courtside views. St. Lucia is the island of rum, sailing, great fish, creole cooking, snorkelling, scuba diving and much more! Customer Review: "Splendid Coco Palm": It must be said that if anything this resort is underated, the hotel facilities, staff, cleanliness and food were second to none. Yes it is not as large as the other hotels in the area but the management have got everything just right for a relaxing stay. Upon arrival in the early evening the staff could not do enough to ensure that our needs were met. But the excellent service did not stop there. We were booked in on a half board basis and ate every evening in the hotel's restaurant Ti Banane, which in my opinion was fantastic. As for the other features of the hotel, the pool was a good size for swimming and because the hotel was small there was always space to spread out by the side. The reception staff could not have been friendlier and the management were always very attentive. All in all I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would be more than happy to visit again.
