Malaysia is one of the most pleasant, hassle-free countries to visit in southeast Asia. It's buoyant and wealthy, and has moved towards a pluralist culture based on a vibrant and interesting fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures and customs. Malaysia's love of Western-style industrialisation is abundantly clear in its big cities. Aside from the gleaming glass towers of the 21st Century, though, Malaysia boasts some of the most superb beaches, mountains and national parks in Asia. Situated on the northernmost tip of Langkawi island, the Datai is nestled inside an ancient tropical rainforest, with a secluded white sandy beach facing the calm Andaman sea. The Datai has a series of well appointed rooms, villas and suites with spacious bedrooms, living areas, private verandhas, and amazing views of the natural landscape. Recreational facilities include: Spa Centre, private beach, 2 tennis courts, 2 swimming pools, health club, water sports facilities, mountain biking facilities. Customer Review: The Datai was fantastic. The rooms and hotel facilities were first rate. The hotel was build in complete harmony with the surrounding rainforest which was impressively beautiful. Despite being expensive for SE Asia, there was value in their offer - the rooms are bigger and more luxurious than other hotels and the beds were SO comfortable! The espresso machine in the room was a big hit!
As you would expect service was impeccable; for example we had to leave the hotel at 7pm for our flight and we were offered a 6pm checkout without us even asking. Overall a very relaxing and romantic break. |
