Sorrento, Italy

An unashamed resort town, Sorrento lines the cliffs that look over the water to Naples and Mt Vesuvius. According to Greek legend, it was here that the Sirens, those mythical provocateurs of pure voice and dodgy intent, lurked, trying to lure Homer's Ulysses and his men.

Hotel Ascot: The hotel is located just outside the pedestiran area: you can reach with a few minutes walk the main square with its famous bars and restaurants, the main street with its smart boutiques, the old town alleys with their colorful shops, the charming fishing village of Marina Grande, the port (well connected with the Gulf Islands, the Amalfi Coast and Naples), the train and bus stations.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Ascot in July of this year.
I COULD NOT FAULT A THING ABOUT IT so
The room was excellent and cleaned EVERY day and the maid was really pleasent and helpful and even took time to assist us when my Girlfriend was suffering from sun burn !!. The Reception staff were VERY polite and helpful and ALWAYS spoke to us whatever time of day we passed by. The pool was clean, although small, but adequate to "cool off" in, with sufficient sun loungers and chairs to accomodate all. The jacuzzi was available all day and was well utilised The roof terrace was spacious with excellent views of the sea and well stocked with chairs, tables and loungers. The restaurant staff were ALWAYS polite and helpful and service was excellent. Full marks to the Hotel Ascot for a superb holiday venue.
