Welcome to a winter fairytale! Après Ski Lillehammer comes alive when sun goes down with traditional pubs and international discos like the Brenneriet, one of Norway's largest nightclubs. There is a wide selection of cafes and restaurants at your disposal aswell, including the superb rooftop bar at the Molla with stunning panoramic views of the city. Many restaurants are to be found along the Storgata main street, which is also great for shopping. Beginner **** Hafjell offers the perfect snow conditions and slopes for begginers. The ski runs are long and wide and for the most part uncrowded. The Norvegian ski instructors speak perfect English and their excellent ski school offer both group and private lessons. Intermediate ***** Intermediates are perhaps best catered for in Lillehammer. Thanks to the efficient lift system, there is little or no queuing in Hafjell, so you can ski non-stop on the good value lift pass. If you want more of a challenge, some of the pistes used for the 1994 Winter Olympics are available for skiing. Advanced *** There are five black runs and an excellent opportunity for off-piste skiing. The reliable snow record ensures that good powder can be found throughout much of the season. Snowboarding **** Boarders are well catered for with a good network of chairlifts, a boardpark and half pipe. The well groomed board park offers 600 metres of fun with moguls, 5 jumps, 3 big jumps, 1 super big jump (roger'n), 2 halfpipes and 8 rails. |
