Bathing In The Blue Lagoon

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND

This tour commences with a drive alongside the City Lake – Tjörnin – with a view of City Hall, and continues past The Pearl – Perlan – an impressive glass dome on top of hot water storage tanks. Through Reykjavík’s suburbs we travel past the rugged lava fields of the Reykjanes peninsula, towards the Blue Lagoon

Reykjavik Highlights

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND

As we approach the city we will notice the clean lines of modern buildings and fresh bright colours, with the number of traditional buildings increasing as we get closer to the old town centre. Our tour starts with a drive through the city’s main recreational and sports area of Laugardalur.

Thorsmork 4x4 Safari

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND

The valley of Thórsmörk is considered a pearl of Icelandic nature. Surrounded by glaciers, it seems like a green oasis in the wilderness. In 4x4 vehicles, especially modified for the purpose of traversing Iceland’s varied terrain, we travel over the lava plateau Hellisheidi and proceed via the southern coastal lowlands, to the greenhouse village Hveragerdi. The route passes through some of the prettiest countryside in Iceland – on a clear day there are frequent views of mountains including snow shrouded Hekla, the country’s most active volcano, and the towering, ice capped Eyjafjallajökull.

The Golden Circle

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND

This is a classic excursion from Reykjavík covering the ‘Big Three’ – Gullfoss, Geysir and Thingvellir. Collectively they are known as the Golden Circle – the fantastic natural wonders for which Iceland is justly renowned.

Torshavn The Capital

TORSHAVN, FAROE ISLANDS

Today Tórshavn is considered one of the smallest and most pleasant capital cities in the world. The history of Tórshavn began centuries ago when Vikings from Western Norway first met in the middle of the islands for their annual gathering. This summer court and market gradually grew into a permanent trading area. Under Norwegian and then Danish rule government officials made Tórshavn their home. They built forts to protect themselves and, spurred on by an expanding fishing fleet, the village soon became a thriving town. Tórshavn today blends the historical and picturesque with all the features of a modern city.

Torshavn Panoramic Drive

TORSHAVN, FAROE ISLANDS

We board our coach on the quayside opposite historic Tinganes, the rocky peninsula in Tórshavn harbour where the ancient Vikings first established the town. Travelling up to the scenic ridge top road that runs along the southern part of the island of Streymoy, we pause for photos at a viewpoint overlooking the colourful capital city.

Vestmanna Seacliffs

TORSHAVN, FAROE ISLANDS

By coach we will travel to the village of Vestmanna, where we board a boat to reach the bird cliffs. Here our senses are awakened by the sound of thousands of seabirds, which return every summer to breed, and the whispering undertone of the ocean.

Flightseeing Adventure

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND
