Set in the heart of the Andorran Pyrenees lies the neighbouring resorts of Soldeu and El Tarter. Soldeu is a typical Spanish style resort, offering excellent value for money, varied skiing, glorious sunshine and a lively après ski scene. Transfer time: 4 hours. Lively, duty-free après ski centres around a number of popular bars in Soldeu such as the Picadilly, Aspens, Pussy Cat Disco and Fat Alberts. A wide variety of restaurants include Esquidor and Fat Alberts, both serving international dishes, Esquirrel Indi T The Soldeu/El Tarter ski school offers an excellent standard of tuition and is widely regarded as one of the top ten ski schools in Europe. Beginners will enjoy the gentle nursery slopes at the middle station and will soon progress to the wide open slopes With predominantly red and blue runs, intermediates will be at home in this area! Particularly suitable are the fast red runs of the Riba Excorxada. Most testing of these is the Aliga run, which starts at 2,470 metres and runs back to the village of El Tarter. Soldeu/El Tarter offers a variety of runs for the advanced skier, along with mogul fields, three black runs and some off piste skiing from the La Solana summit. Soldeu/El Tarter make up the biggest rideable area in Andorra with 88km of well linked terrain. Soldeu has a good snowboard scene with local and international events throughout the season. The resort has plenty of runs for freeriders plus a snowboard park. Creche available for children from 3 years of age. The unit of currency is the Euro. Most banks open from 08.30am to 12.30pm and 3.00pm to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 12.00 Saturdays. ATMs are available 24hrs. The Credit Cards most widely accepted are Mastercard & Visa. One bedroom apartments (2-6 people) have a twin bedroom, an interior twin bedroom (closed by a curtain instead of a door), plus two sofa beds in the living area. Two bedroom apartments (4-6 people) have two twin bedrooms and sofa beds in the living area. Each apartment has a spacious lounge, kitchenette with four-ring hob, fridge and microwave, with private bathroom and balcony. Bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels. |
